Experienced Trade Mark Attorney/ Founder

Emma CHUNG KHOR

Emma specializes in trade mark prosecution. She has substantial experience in clearance searching of trademarks and industrial designs, prosecution of international applications and national applications, management of trade mark portfolios, maintenance and exploitation of registrations and conducting IP due diligence.

She worked as a Trade Mark Attorney and Associate with an Australian IP firm in Hong Kong. Prior to joining her family in Hong Kong, she worked at a full-service law firm in Singapore for four years. There, she handled various matters related to trade mark prosecutions. During her time in Singapore, she also organized an IP Law seminar at the government institute. 

Emma is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Hong Kong Institute of Trade Mark Practitioners and the Asia Academy of International Law.

She graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with an Economics degree and from the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) with an LLB degree. She obtained a master’s degree with honors from the Law School of the University of Auckland. During her master’s degree, Emma worked as a research associate in a think tank based in the United States and participated in various research projects related to financial ethics.

She passed the assessments for Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and is a Registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney and non-practice Trade Mark Attorney in the United Kingdom. She completed a mock trial in front of a justice and queen’s counsel in relation to trade mark litigation and obtained the Intellectual Property Litigation Certificate in the United Kingdom.

Emma recently followed her partner and moved to New Zealand. Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family, creating art work and sailing (pretty badly).

  • Advised trade mark protection strategies for financial technology companies in relation to cryptocurrency and blockchain authentication.
  • Successfully performed for a leading American financial technology company in relation to trade mark infringement and passing-off.
  • Advised a pharmaceutical distributor in relation to potential trade mark and copyright infringement on the packaging of medicine products.
